Wichita Clinic Immediate Care physicians continue to see a number of patients with viral illnesses and upper respiratory infections. They have also seen a number of influenza cases. Symptoms to watch for include fever spikes, coughing and body aches. They encourage frequent hand washing and covering your cough.
The physicians at Bethel in Newton continue to see a lot of influenza with a few cases of mono. Preventive measures include washing your hands with soap and water multiple times each day, staying well-hydrated and well-rested.
Family Medicine physicians in Augusta are seeing a lot of influenza, both types A and B. They have also seen a lot of strep throat and bronchitis.
With the outbreak of Chicken Pox in several of the school districts there has been some concern from parents whether their children are up-to-date on their varicella immunization. It is recommended that school-age children receive a second immunization.
