The stress of flying during the holidays will get a little easier with big changes in airport security.
Starting today the government is lifting certain restrictions in place since the 9/11 attack. Passengers will no longer be checked at every gate. Only travelers at randomly selected gates will have their bags searched.
At Mid-Continent Airport, the 300 foot parking ban has been lifted. That means you won't have to continually circle the airport when you pick up or drop someone off.
Government officials say all of this could change again if the country's terrorist threat level is elevated.
