Two men have been charged in connection to a shooting that killed a Wichita man.
Robert Gammon, 49, was found in a ditch near 44th St. South and Broadway early Saturday morning with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Investigators said Gammon’s death was a result of a dispute over stolen property.
Prosecutors charged two men in connection to the crime during a hearing in Sedwick County District Court Wednesday.
Dustin Cheever is facing charges of second-degree murder. He will return to court June 6 for a preliminary hearing. He remains jailed on $250,000 bond.
A second defendant, Grant Hammans, has been charged with aiding a felon and interfering with law enforcement officers. His preliminary hearing has also been scheduled for June 6. Hammans bond was set at $50,000.
