Authorities say one person is dead and another injured after a collision between two agricultural airplanes in northeast Arkansas.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford says a Grumman G164 and an Air Tractor crashed into each other around 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, about 16 miles southwest of Paragould.
Greene County deputy coroner Sammy Hays says the surviving person was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital. Hays says he
doesn't know the extent of that person's injuries.
One person is believed to have been in each of the planes.
FAA records show the Air Tractor is a turbo-prop plane registered to Miles Flying Service in Jonesboro. A phone number for the company was busy Wednesday.
Lunsford says FAA investigators are en route and the National Transportation Safety Board has been notified.
