Kansas Fifth Grader Arrested In School Shooting Plot
April 5 - A Kansas boy faces some serious charges for allegedly planning to shoot teachers and classmates at his school.

The school shooting plot may have been foiled by a fellow student.

It happened last week. Tuesday, students at Charles O. Stone Intermediate Center in Garden City went home with a note informing parents of the alleged plot against students and teachers. The boy now faces felony charges.

Police say the 11 year old boy, who was a victim of bullies told other students he planned to carry out a shooting at his school.

Police say the fifth grader tried to solicit other students to help carry out his plan. That plan included a list with the names of some students and teachers. A classmate overheard the conversation and told a teacher.

The boy was taken out of school. Police say this is one of the youngest students to allegedly make any kind of threat at a Garden City School.

The boy is not allowed in school during the investigation. School officials will decide if he'll be allowed back after the investigation is over.
