A federal judge approves the sale of three of the biggest rides at the now bankrupt Wild West World.

The amusement park went under in July, just two months after it opened. Bankruptcy attorneys had hoped to sell the park as a whole, but couldn't.

Now it's being sold off piece by piece. Three of the rides are being sold for about $750,000.

According to court documents, the Sidewinder offer is $435,000. The Fiesta Mexicana offer is $300,000. The company that originally sold the rides to Wild West World, ride broker Moser, has filed bankruptcy claims totaling more than $534,000.

The Himalaya offer is for $250,000. Fitraco, a Belgian ride broker, holds the original $1.4 million mortgage.

There are 24 rides to be sold from Wild West World. The money will go to secured creditors first, then unsecured creditors. Attorneys hope to have all the rides gone by mid-December.

The major flaw with Wild West World was that it was a glorified, permanently place carinval. I know this sounds like bashing, but all the rides I've seen there I could get at a county or state fair! For the money, it just wasn't worth my hard working hours! I would hardly call Wild West World an amusement park - there wasn't anything amusing about it! No main rollercoaster attraction to draw in the die-hard fans. I'm sorry, but Wild West World was a botched up job through an ill-planned but well concieved idea. Go to Worlds of Fun, Frontier City, Six Flags Great America, Six Flags Mid America, and Silver Dollar City and you'll see what I'm talking about...

Me and my family was so excited when it was annouced that the they were going to build a theme park here. I thought finally that someones going to invest into our our community and give our familys someting to call their own and be proud of.We thought WILD WEST WORLD was really nice place, our kids loved it. It had alot of potential to be something grand. It really really saddens me that the city wichita has NOOOOO entertainment value. They won't even try to save a icon like joyland. Why do we need a arena? I and every one i speak to say they would rather have a theme park than a useless arena.Someone please bring us a park!!!
