On Hatteberg's People, Cori Eck is one of those women who you meet who seems to have the strength of lions.

This year, she received her second breast cancer diagnosis, but that little fact has caused her NOT to change her life.

"I never thought I'd get diagnosed again. I really thought I had beat it the first time," Eck said. "So when I was diagnosed with it again, I was kind of shocked."

So what do you do with a cancer diagnosis and going through Chemo and radiation? Of course, you do a high-energy and difficult Fitness Boot-camp".

If Chemo brings you down, then exercise brings you back up. It's that balance," Eck said. "I'm not going to let this change who I am, I'm going to continue to work towards being healthy."

At 5:15 a.m. Cori Eck responds to instructor Paulina Archibeque's commands. And After 'Fitness Boot camp' it's off to Abilene Elementary School in Valley Center. A full-day teaching second graders.

"You just focus on your kids and you forget all about yourself. You just enjoy the kids. It lets you step 'outside' yourself," Eck said

It was 2008 when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer. She beat that, then this year it appeared again.

"I have stubbornness about me that the cancer is not going to win," Eck said.

"At first, I was hoping out of all hopes that it wasn't cancer again. Then you realize, OK, we are going to fight this again. We can do it, don't worry."

But her 'can-do' attitude is a powerful motivator. That's why she does 'this'.

"I can do this, I can do the next thing," Eck said. "And you find out when you push yourself through something, that you are more capable than you thought you were."

Eck says as long as she keeps up her normal routine, the cancer doesn't win - she does.
