Is it legal to scalp tickets for more than face value in Wichita? Good question.
With the opening of the Intrust Bank Arena this year, huge acts like Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley are coming to Wichita. Tickets are selling out fast and many end up on Craigslist and eBay for more than their face value.
There is a city ordinance in place in Wichita, but according to city attorney Gary Rebenstorf, it’s out of date. The law says that anyone who is buying, selling or dealing in theater or event tickets must buy a $200 license to sell for more than face value.
The state of Kansas does not have any scalping laws but efforts are underway to enact stricter laws.
