Santa’s Workshop airs on KAKE every afternoon at 4:30. Some viewers remember Santa’s helper was once Toyboy. Why is he now called KAKEman? Good question.

For those who may not remember, Santa’s Workshop debuted on KAKE in the late 50s. For many years, boys and girls tuned in to watch the “big guy” with his wacky helper, KAKEman.

But in the 80s, Santa found a new television home at KWCH and KAKEman had to change his name to Toyboy. Santa’s same wacky helper got a new hat and a new name.

When Santa returned to his original TV home last year, Toyboy changed his name back to KAKEman.
