One viewer writes: "I'm tired of getting stuck waiting for trains that always seem to come during the lunch hour. Is there a train schedule available to the public for Wichita railroad crossings?" Good question.
Wouldn't it be great to have the master schedule of trains at all crossing in Wichita? You could be one step ahead of the locomotives.
It sounds great, and it would be great if it existed. But it doesn't.
Here's why: There are four railroad companies cruising through Wichita. They share tracks and schedules. Officials at the Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad and the Wichita Terminal Association say that the schedules on different tracks change many times and that each company has a different itinerary.
It's not as simple as producing a master schedule for Wichita crossings. It would change so many times in a day, it just wouldn't be accurate.
