Before you head out the door, we like to catch you up with what happened while you were sleeping.
Three people were hurt when a car left a northeast Wichita street and ended up in a small lake.
Emergency crews were called to 29th Street North and Governeour -- about midway between Woodlawn and Rock Road -- just after 1 a.m. The car became at least partially submerged in the lake.
One person was taken to Wesley Medical Center with potentially serious injuries. Two people were taken to Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. One other person declined any kind of treatment.
A short time later, police in southeast Wichita were sent to check out a report of shots fired near Pawnee and Hillside. That turned out to be a power transformer blowing up.
