Before you head out the door, we like to catch you up with what happened while you were sleeping.
If you live in southeast Wichita, the odds are pretty good your power went out while you were asleep.
Residents started noticing those power outages about 4:30 a.m. Thursday. Most of those outages were concentrated in an area near Harry and Rock Road. Nearly 4,200 customers were without power during the height of the outages, about 5 a.m. Westar Energy blames an equipment failure and crews had power restored to most of the affected customers by 6:30 a.m.
Some residents of west Wichita may have had their sleep interrupted by emergency crews responding to a traffic crash at Maple and Maize Road.
Police are still looking for someone who ran away from the scene of that crash, which happened a little after 1 a.m. Emergency dispatcher says that person still hasn't been found.
The driver of the other car was not seriously hurt, though both cars were totaled in the crash.
