Before you head out the door, we like to catch you up with what happened while you were sleeping.
Emergency dispatchers describe late Thursday night and early Friday morning as "busy, but quiet" after handling what they say were relatively routine calls.
Firefighters in south Wichita were sent to a reported apartment fire in the 2500 block of South Emporia about 12:30 a.m. That turned out to be an electrical problem. There was no significant damage and nobody was hurt.
Police investigated the report of an assault with a weapon near 13th and Grove about 1 a.m. There were no injuries there. Then, about 2:15 a.m., officers checked on the report of shots fired in the 2200 block of East MacArthur, near MacArthur and Hydraulic. Nobody was hurt in that incident either.
If you notice emergency traffic in your neighborhood while you're trying to sleep, you can ask us about it on our Good Morning Kansas Facebook page and we'll look for an answer.
