Before you head out the door, we like to catch you up with what happened while you were sleeping.

Some residents of south Wichita got a wake-up call early Friday morning as police chased a burglary suspect. The chase began a little before 12:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of South Seneca -- a few block south of Harry and Seneca -- as officers were responding to a burglary alarm. Those officers saw a car run a red light and attempted to pull the car over, but the driver sped off.

One person, believed to be the burglary suspect, was arrested a short time later.

Thursday night's severe thunderstorms definitely made some noise and dumped heavy rain and hail on parts of south-central Kansas. However, so far, there have not been any major reports of damage. Emergency dispatchers in Sedgwick, Butler and Harvey Counties all say no damage reports were made to 911 in any of those counties. Rescue crews in Butler County did have to help residents of one home north of Augusta that was flooded.

Most power outages caused by Thursdays storms had been eliminated by 6:30 a.m.
