A train derailment has slowed down traffic in downtown Wichita.
It happened just after 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, when three cars of a two-mile-long train went off the track and spilled some of their contents.
About 30 gallons of sodium hydroxide spilled in the derailment, but police say there is no threat to the public.
The derailment closed streets from Indianapolis to Gilbert and from St. Francis to Mead for several hours.
The cause is under investigation.
