A popular childproof product is being pulled from store shelves after reports that young children can disengage the lock.

The recall affects Safety 1st toilet and cabinet locks. Officials said children can open the toilet locks, posing a drowning risk. The cabinet locks can also fail, posing a risk of injury.

The toilet lock was sold nationwide from January 2005 to April 2010. They sold for $8 to $20. The cabinet locks were sold from January 2000 through March 2009 for $2 to $11.
