You'll remember the Harvard baseball team dancing in a van to 'Call Me Maybe.' Well, one local sports team thinks they have outdone this popular viral video.
On a recent trip to Colorado, the Friends University men's soccer team got bored. So to pass the time, the guys turned to dancing, and their 'Teenage Dream' routine was all caught on camera.
Chase Billings said the team wanted to be more creative than the Harvard team.
"We can do better than that I think," Billings said. "So we just started making up all these moves."
It took them three hours to perfect the dance to Katy Perry's song. While they may be sick of hearing that song, they haven't gotten tired of the notoriety they've received from the video.
"I went into financial aid the other day and they were just like, 'Hey are you from that video?'" Billings said.
So who came up with the moves?
"Don't think anyone really wants to take credit for that," said senior Scott Henderson.
While no one will fess up to the choreography, they're quick to point out who took the longest to get the dance down. Trenton Tucker admitted that he was off on some of the moves.
The boys said that this was a good bonding experience, and feel that it will help them on the field.
"Ya I think it intimidates the other teams, for sure," Billings said.
Ok, while that might be a stretch, they do think it will increase their fan base. The video has reached 2,400 hits in two weeks.
