Fire in Northeast Wichita Destroys Home

Wichita fire investigators have returned to the scene of a house fire, that destroyed a northeast Wichita home.

It happened in the 1100 block of N. Green St. around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Crews were forced to fight the fire from the outside, due to unsafe conditions.

A family was inside the home when the fire broke out, but managed to escape.

The cause remains under investigation. The home is a total loss, damage is estimated at $40,000.

A fire in northeast Wichita completely consumes a home.

The fire was reported around 9:45 last night on the 1100 block of north Green Street.

Once firefighters arrived on scene, they saw that the house was completely involved and went into defensive mode. The fire also spread to a car parked outside of the house. The four people inside the home at the time the fire started got out before firefighters arrived. No one was injured.

It is not yet known what caused the fire, or how much damage was caused in terms of dollar loss.
