Kirstie Alley Helps Greensburg Victims

GREENSBURG, Kan. (AP) -- Kirstie Alley has paid to have truckloads of supplies brought to Greensburg to help its residents and their animals recover from the tornado that damaged the town.

Alley is a native of Wichita and still owns a house there. She and a group of Church of Scientology volunteers set up a tent to give out bottled water, candy, T-shirts, sun hats, socks and other supplies.

They also brought food, bowls, cardboard carriers and other items for displaced animals.

The former star of the TV series "Cheers" paid for everything.

Alley heard about the deadly tornado while in Los Angeles, where
she was being evacuated because of nearby wildfires.
