WICHITA, Kan. — A Wichita man escaped without injury after police said he was carjacked early Monday morning.

Around 3:15 a.m., a 27-year-old man was driving near Douglas and Minneapolis when a man stepped in front of his car. The driver stopped, then a second man got into his car with a gun. The other suspect also got into the car, then told the driver to head towards an ATM.

When they arrived at the Commerce Bank ATM in the 2700 block of East Boulevard Plaza, the driver saw a chance to escape and ran from the car. He was able to safely get away.

The suspects didn't get any money from the ATM, but previously took the cash the victim already had.

The suspects were described as two black males. The first was approximately 25 years old, 5-feet, 10-inches tall, had a medium complexion and wore a white t-shirt. The other was 19 to 20 years old with a thin build, braids and wore a black t-shirt.

Police are still looking for the victim's car, a 2004 white Oldsmobile Alero. The car had a 60-day tag with number A610601. Anyone who sees the car is asked to call police.
