Business Owner Receives Donation After Weekend Break-In

What could have ruined Christmas for a local business owner, turned out to be a Christmas moment she'll never forget.

Sacred Heart Gifts on South Hydraulic was broken into on Saturday. The owner tells us between the damage and the items stolen, she lost about $2,000.

Monday, she says Bill Warren of Warren Theaters came into her store and gave her an envelope with $1,000 inside.

"It's a wonderful community and I want to thank Mr. Warren he really came through and he really blessed my family,” Sheri Ramirez said.

We spoke with Bill Warren by phone Monday. He told us he stopped by Ramirez's store after seeing her story on KAKE News.

“You know I just think any of us as human beings, we need to do something nice for one of our fellow human beings. Whether we know them or not,” Bill Warren said.

Wichita Police are investigating after someone threw a large rock through the window of a Christian gift shop early Sunday morning. It happened at the Scared Heart Gift Store, located at 113 South Hydraulic.

Owner Sheri Ramirez tells KAKE News that the burglar tossed a brick through the front window and knocked over a display shelf to get inside.

"As a s mall business owner, everyday we struggle to survive and something like this is pretty devastating." says Ramirez.

Ramirez says the burglar took costume jewelry, a case of sterling silver medals and a television. Anyone who may have been in the area and saw something suspicious is asked to contact Wichita Police.
