WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita police say an elderly man was hospitalized early Sunday morning after a younger woman he was trying to dance with pushed him, causing him to fall and sustain injuries.

It happened shortly after 1 a.m. at the Driftwood Lounge in the 1200 block of East MacArthur.

Sgt. John Hoofer said a 79-year-old man was attempting to dance with a woman in her mid to late 20s when she pushed him. He then fell over a wooden bench.

The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a broken rib and collapsed lung.

Police did not mention whether he made physical contact with the woman.

Hoofer said they have not located the woman. She is described as, again, being in her mid to late 20s. She's about 5-foot-4 with a thin build, has brown hair and was wearing a plaid shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
