Garden City, Kan. -- A Garden City man is behind bars after a standoff.
It happened Friday around 5:40 p.m. in the 2300 block of N. 7th St. Police responded to the scene on the report of shots being fired. After a brief standoff 28-year-old Aaron Findley was taken into custody without incident.
Police say that Findley and family members were in a verbal argument inside of the home. During the argument he went into the bedroom, grabbed a gun, and then went into the living room.
Findley made several threats and then fired the gun once inside the house. Two children and one family member were in the room when the gun was fired.
Detectives received a search warrant for the home and found numerous firearms and a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, among other evidence. The total weight of the suspected cocaine was 15 grams.
Findley was booked into jail on 3 counts of attempted murder, 4 counts of criminal threat, 2 counts of endangering a child, 1 count of aggravated assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and trafficking contraband in a correctional facility.
