WICHITA, Kan. -- An argument over cologne yesterday led to an assault with a homemade torch.

It happened shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of South Yale. That's near Lincoln and Hillside.

Police say a 56-year-old man, 37-year-old woman and her 16-year-old son got into an argument over a bottle of cologne. The teen then reportedly grabbed a lighter and can of hairspray and used the homemade torch to shoot flames at the older man.

Police said the boy and his mother then began kicking the man. Officers arrested the woman, but other details were not released.

The 56-year-old suffered minor injuries in the attack.
