SUMNER COUNTY, Kan. -- Deputies in Sumner County are searching for a man in connection to an attempted kidnapping earlier this month.
The incident happened in the southern part of the county around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, August 11th.
The Sumner County Sheriff's Office said a 37-year-old woman was forced into a vehicle and later jumped from it to escape.
The man sought in connection to the case is 29-year-old Brandon Scott Hutchison. He is 6-foot-1 and weighs about 150 pounds. He's wanted for aggravated kidnapping, criminal threat, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Another woman assisted the victim and took her to get medical attention.
The victim tells KAKE News she is very thankful for the help from the bystander and wants to thank her. "It is very important that I find her because she is a witness to what happened and I want to thank her for possibly saving my life," she said. KAKE News is withholding the name of the victim for safety reasons.
Investigators are looking for whoever was driving a white pickup in the area at the time of the incident who may have seen what happened. They would also like to speak with a middle-age couple who saw the victim at a convenience store earlier that evening.
