A man is fighting to save his leg after he was hurt in a hit and run accident. Police are asking for your help in finding the driver who is responsible.

At approximately 11 p.m. on Aug. 20, a man was preparing to tow a car with his personal truck in the 1900 block of North Arkansas Avenue. He had just attached the tow cable and was standing between the two vehicles when a silver minivan traveling east on 18th Street made a left turn onto Arkansas Avenue.

The minivan struck the rear of the vehicle that was being towed, pushing it into the victim's truck and pinning him between the two vehicles. The driver of the minivan backed up, continued north on Arkansas and was last seen turning east onto 19th Street.

The victim suffered a partial amputation of his leg. He was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. He remains hospitalized while doctors continue to fight to save his leg.

The minivan is a late 1990s to early 2000 model Chrysler or Dodge. It will likely have damage to the front bumper, grill, radiator and possibly the hood. The right front bumper may have more damage than the left.
