Derby, Kan. -- On Thursday, March 6th, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., someone smashed the glass to a backdoor and broke into a house in the 4300 block of east Mark Twain near Derby.

The thieves took rare coins, including an 1861 Confederate 50 cent piece. Some antiques and jewelry were also stolen.

The loss was valued at $12,000 and the damage to home is estimated at $3,000.
