Investigators need your help to solve a murder that happened over a decade ago. The victims identity is still not known. Deputies say figuring out who the man is could be the key to solving the crime.

The man was bound and buried in a shallow grave near 55th Street West and 47th Street South. When it was discovered, the body was so decomposed, investigators think it may have been there for months.

"We went nationwide to try and ID the subject. We used the skeletal remains to try and get a depiction of what the victim possibly looked like," says Sedgwick County Sheriff's Detective Mark Geddis.

It's believed the man was between 20 and 30 years-old, with a medium build, but investigators have little else to go on. It's not believed the man was killed where his body was found. Instead, this was a resting place picked to conceal the murder.

Geddis says someone has likely talked about the crime over the years. Investigators want to hear from anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem.

You can remain anonymous and a reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Call crimestoppers at 267-2111 with any information.
