Gary Isaacs was 44 years-old when he was murdered in January of 1992. His body was found inside the office of his business. He worked as a traveling salesman.
"Basically, his shop was there in the 3300 block of West Douglas," explains Lieutenant Ken Landwehr. "He'd rented out some space there for an office."
Landwehr says Isaacs was found inside that small office by a couple of his employees who were there to drop off some money.
"From our early examination of the scene, it could have been a motive of robbery or could have been someone who knew who he was," said Landwehr.
It was not uncommon for Isaacs to have money in that office. Employees would often drop off receipts from their traveling sales, but there never were huge sums of money, he says.
"There didn't appear to be any cash left, but I don't know if that was the actual motive in the case or if that was taken secondary," Landwehr said.
He also says this case has been tough because Isaacs knew very few people in the Wichita area. He had only been in town a short time after moving here from Oklahoma.
"We need someone who might have known him or had been involved with him at the time," Landwehr says. "Anybody that might have talked about it. It didn't get a lot of coverage at the time, but anyone who might have been bragging about a murder at an office on west Douglas."
