Woman Injured In Purse Snatching Attempt

A 68-year-old woman suffered minor injuries during a purse snatching attempt Monday in southeast Wichita.

At about 5 p.m. Monday, the woman was walking into Walgreens at Harry and Edgemoor with her purse around her shoulder.

That's when a man came up from behind her and grabbed her purse. He tried pulling the purse off her shoulder and ended up pulling the woman to the ground.

She managed to hold on to the purse and the suspect ran way. A man in the store parking lot witnessed what happened and chased the man, but eventually lost him in the area of Parkwood and Harry.

Police have not made any arrests. The woman suffered minor bruises.
