A woman found with 12 pounds of cocaine has been sentenced to almost four years in federal prison.
A judge sentenced 28-year-old Monica Carrillo of Nogales, Mexico to 46 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
In February, Carrillo was pulled over by a highway patrol trooper in Russell County. During a search of the car, a hidden compartment was found with over 12 pounds of cocaine inside.
She told authorities she was going to be paid $1,000 for transporting the drugs from California to Chicago.
