Wichita Police Officer Injured In Crash During Pursuit

Monday, January 28, 2013

A police officer has been injured in a crash that happened during a pursuit in northeast Wichita.

It began shortly after 10 a.m. when officers tried to stop a motorcycle on 13th east of Hillside. When the motorcycle sped away, officers began to chase.

The crash happened moments later at 13th and Chautauqua when a patrol car hit a tree. An officer was hurt, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The driver of the motorcycle was able to get away.

Officers believe this may be the same person who led officers on another chase last week.

Police are looking for a white man, approximately 20-years-old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 150 pounds. He had a thin beard and was wearing a dark shirt and jeans. He was driving a dark green or emerald sport bike-style motorcycle.
