Wichita Police have released new information in the shooting death of a man Saturday night near downtown Wichita.
It happened shortly after 9 p.m. in the 800 block of North Wabash.
Police say 23-year-old George Vasquez was shot in the head when he answered the door. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The weapon was recovered, and officers later arrested 28-year-old Hakeem Jackson. He was booked on a first degree murder charge.
Police believe Jackson likely knew the victim, and possibly worked with him in the past.
Two other people were in the home at the time of the shooting, but were not injured.
This was the city's 22nd homicide of the year.

One person is dead in what appears to be the city's latest homicide. It happened shortly after 9 o'clock Saturday evening in the 800 block of North Wabash.
Wichita Police Captain Rusty Leeds says officers responded to the scene and found one person shot inside of the home. The man in his twenties was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
Captain Leeds stopped short of calling the death a homicide, but said police were still trying to locate the weapon used and several people have been taken into custody for questioning.
The victim's name has not been released. We will have more information as soon as it is available.
