Wichita Police say the coroner's office will have to determine what caused a man's death Monday night. Police were called to the area of Boston and Market in South Wichita to the report of a man down call.
Sgt. Brian Sigman said at the scene that at first, officers thought the man had been the victim of a hit and run accident. However, once he was transported to the hospital, it was determined the man likely fell and struck his head on the pavement due to a medical condition.
Police have not released the name of the man, believed to be in his forties. His death is being treated as suspicious until the coroner's office completes its investigation.
