Police in Kansas City say two children were injured by gunfire Monday evening.
KMBC reports the shooting happened just before 8 p.m. in the 4300 block of Tracy Avenue on the city's east side.
A 7-year-old was shot in the abdomen and a toddler suffered a graze wound. Both were taken to a local hospital. Their injuries are not considered life threatening.
Police say two men were chasing and firing shots at another man. One of the rounds went into a home and struck the children.
The fleeing man then ran into a house, authorities say, but it was not clear whether the man ran into the same house where the children were shot.
