Three Injured In Southeast Wichita Bar Fight

Saturday, February 23, 2013

Three people in their 20s were hurt -- two of them critically -- in a southeast Wichita bar fight early Saturday morning, police said.

The fight broke out just before 2 a.m. at South Rock Billiards and Sports Bar at 2020 S. Rock Road, which is just north of Pawnee and Rock. Wichita Police Sgt. Dale Mattern said the fight involved about 10 people.

The victims showed up at Via Christi-St. Joseph Hospital. Two of them were in critical condition, Mattern said, and they were transferred to Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital. The other victim suffered relatively minor injuries.

Emergency dispatchers said at least one of the victims had been stabbed, but Mattern said police were still investigating to determine exactly what injuries each victim had suffered. Detectives were interviewing witnesses to determine what the fight was about.
