The four men accused in the shooting death of a Wichita man made their first appearances in court Tuesday.
Milo Brown, 21, Jerome Brown, 18, Shawn Brown, 20, and Myron Peters, 19, were each charged with one count of felony murder in the death of 42-year-old Shawn Rhone on January 2.
Milo Brown was also charged with being a felon in possession of and criminal discharge of a firearm.
According to police, Rhone was in possession of marijuana and got a phone call from several suspects asking to do a drug deal. When Rhone arrived in the 1700 block Northeast Parkway, two suspects got out of their car and tried to rob him.
Rhone tried to drive away, but one of the suspects fired a handgun at this car, hitting him twice. Rhone then drove himself to the QuikTrip station at 13th and Oliver where he flagged down an off-duty officer for help.
He was rushed to an area hospital and died a few hours later.
This is the city's first murder of 2013.
