Police are looking for a man who allegedly used a cleaver to rob a Wichita gas station Monday evening.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. at the Johnson’s General Store in the 1000 block of South Seneca Street.

Authorities say the man entered the business with a cleaver in his hand and blue underwear covering his face. He left the store with an unknown amount of cash and lotto tickets and was last seen heading south on foot. No injuries were reported.

The clerk told police the suspect is a regular at the store and lives nearby.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male, around 30 years old, 5-foot-6, medium build and wearing a gray hoodie and a dark coat.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
