A 20-year-old man is recovering at an area hospital after being stabbed in west Wichita Wednesday night.

Around 11 p.m., officers were called to the Forrest Grove apartments, located in the 6700 block of Par Lane.

When they arrived, they found a man in the street with a stab wound to his abdomen. He was transported to the hospital, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Neighbors told police there were four people outside, including the victim, his girlfriend and two friends. Police believe there was an argument between the victim and his girlfriend over comments he made about another girl.

Police are calling the victim's girlfriend a likely suspect, but so far she has not been arrested. Officers have also interviewed the victim, but say he is not being cooperative and continues to change his story.

No one else was hurt.
