Man Charged With Murder In 4 Detroit Slayings

Monday, November 26, 2012

A suburban Detroit man has been charged with murder in the 2011 slayings of four women found in car trunks.

The Macomb County prosecutor's office announced Monday that 24-year-old James Brown of Sterling Heights is charged with four counts of murder and other charges in the deaths.

The prosecutor's office says he's due in court Monday morning in Sterling Heights.

The bodies of 24-year-old Demesha Hunt and 23-year-old Renisha Landers were found Dec. 19 in a car trunk in Detroit. The bodies of Natasha Curtis and Vernithea McCrary were found Christmas Day in the trunk of a burning car.

Three of the women had placed adult dating service ads on Backpage.com.

Brown previously faced charges including disinterment, but not murder. A message was left seeking comment from his lawyer.
