A possible kidnapping lead to a standoff in southeast Wichita late Sunday night into Monday morning.

It happened in the 300 block of South Davidson. A witness called 911 around 8 p.m. Sunday to report seeing a woman being dragged by a man into an SUV, then taken away.

At first, police were unable to locate the vehicle, but an hour later the same witness called saying it had just parked in a driveway in the same neighborhood.

Police spoke to the people at the home, who told them the others had been dropped off at a different house nearby. When officers arrived at the other house, they asked the man and woman to come outside, but they refused.

SWAT was called out, and negotiators were eventually able to talk the suspect out of the home. No one was injured.

Police say the suspect is the woman's ex-boyfriend. Officers continue to investigate the circumstances.
