A 20-year-old man is in jail on suspicion of murder in connection with a deadly Halloween night shooting, police say.
The Hutchinson Police Department says Devante Beltran was arrested Thursday on suspicion of second degree murder, criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and criminal discharge of a firearm.
Beltran's arrest is in connection with the shooting death of 26-year-old Dustin Brooks. He died after being shot behind a home in the 200 block of North Cleveland in Hutchinson Wednesday night.

A man who was shot in a Hutchinson alley Wednesday night has died from his wound.
Hutchinson police say 26-year-old Dustin Brooks died after emergency surgery failed early Thursday morning.
Brooks was shot in the torso around 8 p.m. in an alley in the 200 block of North Cleveland. Police say the shooting stemmed from a party nearby.
Police are interviewing potential suspects and witnesses.

Police are investigating after a man was critically hurt in a shooting in southeast Hutchinson. It happened around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday in an alley near the 200 block of North Cleveland Street.
Authorities say the man suffered one gunshot wound and was taken by private vehicle to a nearby fire station. From there, he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he is undergoing surgery.
