A former Wichita East HIgh School teacher who admitted to having sex with a minor will spend nearly three years in prison.

Judge Phil Journey sentenced 32-year-old Kurt Brundage Friday to 32 months in prison. He also must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Brundage, who taught English at East from 2006 to 2011 before teaching at Eudora High School, pleaded guilty in June to two counts of indecent liberties with a child. Prosecutors said he committed the crimes with a 15-year-old East High student in January 2010.
