A man has been arrested for child abuse, as a baby remains hospitalized with a severe head injury.
A family member brought the 11-month-old to a Wichita hospital Tuesday, and doctors determined the child had a skull fracture along with bleeding on the brain.
Hospital workers alerted police after they determined the baby's injuries weren't consistent with the mother's story.
Wednesday, police arrested a man described as the mother's boyfriend.
Jail records show Audrey Lewis, 19, was booked for attempted second degree murder and aggravated battery.
The child remains hospitalized.

Wichita Police are investigating after a family member brought an 11-month-old baby to Via Christi hospital Tuesday afternoon with a skull fracture and bleeding on the brain.
Doctors treating the child called police after they determined the child's injuries aren't consistent with something that could have happened as an accident.
The investigation is ongoing, and so far no arrests have been made.
