A would-be robber gave a wallet back to his victim, after realizing they may have served time together.
It happened around 10:30 Wednesday night in the 400 block of North St. Francis. Police say a 50-year-old man was approached by two men, one armed with a gun, who demanded his money.
As they were going through the man's wallet, one of the suspects believed he recognized the victim as someone he had spent time with in prison before.
He apologized, shook hands with him and returned his wallet. The two men then left.
No arrests have been made.
