A new jail has opened in Ford County in southwest Kansas.
Jail staffers moved about 70 inmates from the old Ford County Detention Center into the new facility, after more than two months of training.
Jail administrator Capt. Ruth Divelbiss says she is glad to have the move completed and calls it "a hard journey."
