Three die in separate crashes on Kansas roads

Wichita, Kan. -- Three people have died in separate accidents this weekend across Kansas.

The first accident was reported in Graham County around 4 a.m. Saturday. The Kansas Highway Patrol says 25-year-old Dylan Herlevich of Littleton, Colorado was a passenger in a pickup truck whose driver lost control south of Penokee. Herlevich was ejected and died at the scene.

The second accident was reported in Cherokee County around 7:45 a.m. Saturday. Troopers say 35-year-old Justin Oldham of Carthage, Mo. was traveling westbound on U166 Highway when he lost control and went into eastbound lanes, colliding head on with another vehicle.

Oldham was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Ashley Martin of Carterville, Mo. and the two people inside the other vehicle were transported to the hospital in Joplin for treatment.

The third accident was reported around 8 a.m. Sunday morning on I35, just east of Emporia. Troopers say Brian Ingersoll or Southfield, Michigan was towing a trailer with his pickup truck when he lost control while passing another vehicle and jackknifed in the east ditch. Ingersoll was pronounced dead a the scene.

The highway patrol did not specify if the accidents were weather related.
