WICHITA, Kan. — A teen is recovering after being shot overnight in southeast Wichita.

According to Wichita Police, two teens were pulling into an apartment complex in the 6600 block of East Harry around 1 a.m. Friday when a shot rang out.

Pellets from a shotgun blast broke out the back window and birdshot hit the 19-year-old passenger in the shoulder and right side of his face. The 17-year-old driver took him off to a nearby hospital.

"Just going to my friend's house and when we turned into the apartment complex, somebody just let off a gunshot so I ducked, surprised I made it," said David Gulley, victim.

Police have not indicated if there's a motive in the shooting. No arrests have been made.
