Security Breach Reported At Oklahoma Casino

Friday, October 07, 2011

A Northern Oklahoma casino is investigating a security breach involving customers’ credit cards.

First Council casino officials said they are working with local authorities and banks to resolve the issue.

"Numerous financial institutions have been affected in our region, and it is our understanding that law enforcement is actively addressing the issue," said Bill Docking, Union State Bank Chief Executive Officer. "While this is a temporary inconvenience, we hope customers understand that these are the most effective methods we have to protect their accounts from fraud."

USB tells KAKE news customers debit cards will be replaced as a precaution against possible fraud. Customers will receive a new card at no cost within five to seven days.

"We have seen the results of fraudulent activity and have elected to replace all affected cards immediately to prevent our customers from having unauthorized charges," said Eric Kurtz, USB Corporate President.

First Council said authorities are looking into whether a similar incident occurred at casinos in the surrounding area.
