The City of Salina will replace around 350 of its street lights with LED lights.
The lighting in the downtown area is about 25 years old and is expensive to maintain. The city will replace those lights, along with parking and cross walk fixtures with the energy efficient lighting.
The overall cost of the project is around $3 million but is expected to save the city around $133,000 dollars in utility costs.
